The generation of power is such a contentious issue in Australia. People want clean power but the dominance of coal fired power stations is long entrenched. Nuclear is certainly problematic in application in Australia which has been anti nuclear for so long. Wind farms are a great solution for most of Australia as there are so many places which are wind swept. They are clean and can produce significant quantities of power.

People are against them though because they stand out high above the ground and take up a lot of space. Then there is the environmentalists who don’t want them because birds could get killed by them. You would think they would make there mind up. Do they want clean power generation. I’m sure there would be a small loss but how could they prove that a species would be destroyed by a wind farm.

Any way I like them they look great and produce clean power. Its time we see more efficient power generation in Australia. I believe these are a fantastic solution for Australia. It was encouraging to see more of these wind farms being used on the Victorian coast. The photos I have here are from the Codrington wind farm between Portland and Port Fairy.
